BetterWorld Telecom Presents the BetterWork™ Lunch Forum
BetterWork™ Defined: Numerous recent reports predict that more proactive use of existing telecommunications technologies can reduce the carbon footprint of the U.S. by up to 50%. Jacob Griscom and Salem Kimble from BetterWorld will provide an overview of new trends in remote workers, virtual offices, decentralization, and democratization of the work place...as well as provide a review of specific technology solutions such as integrated video/voice/web conferencing, unified communications and cloud communications for the workplace.
About the Forum: You will learn why the adoption of innovative and flexible telecommunications and application technologies can significantly reduce your organization’s carbon footprint and overhead costs associated with building space, energy, and commuting, all while increasing the productivity and democracy of the workplace. No other strategy today holds this powerful combination of benefits for your organization and the environment.
This monthly forum is focused on building a dialogue around the strategies, successes, and obstacles associated with building BetterWork environments:
Ø Is your organization taking advantage of mature technologies that can positively change how you work today and impact the sustainability of your operations and the environment?
Ø What are the concerns and obstacles involved in going further?
Ø How have other organizations addressed these challenges?

More Details: U.S. firms are facing the worst business climate in 27 years. Some experts suggest that the global recession and credit crisis have made doing business harder today than during the Depression. Sluggish demand for goods and services and lack of credit are forcing companies to cut jobs and suspend capital investments. Against this backdrop, there is also a heightened awareness that carbon emissions are changing our environment through global warming. Regional, state and local governments are connecting the dots and are discussing the implementation of carbon taxes, emissions caps, and pollution standards. Carbon emission policies will result in real costs to businesses, if they don’t already. So how does a company cut costs, while improving the workplace, and decreasing carbon emissions?
The answer is a new approach to business, moving to a different model that sustains the business financially, while sustaining its employees, community, and the environment. The elements of this new model are showing themselves more and more as businesses discover that success is not only found in profit, but also in purpose. Elements of this idea are not new. Consultants and leaders have been talking about concepts of “sustainable business” for a number of years. The difference today is technology has evolved to a point where it can support these concepts while decreasing costs. We call this concept BetterWork™.
